Welcome to the World of Computers is written at a very basic level for beginners. The textbook starts with elementary computer concepts and introduces basic navigation such as mousing, the cursor, the desktop and the taskbar. The fundamentals of word processing are covered using Microsoft Word. Then students are introduced to basic file browsing and how to manage their files. Web browsing and Web mail commands using Yahoo! Mail are explained, including the use of attachments and message management. The book ends with an explanation of email attachments and managing messages in Outlook Express.
