Authoring for Labyrinth is both challenging and rewarding. You'll work with an editorial team that is committed to providing you with the tools and support you need to be the next successful Labyrinth Learning author.
Author candidates must be a classroom instructor for the subject to be authored (preferably at the 2- or 4-year college level). Successful candidates will also possess the following qualifications:
- Subject matter expert
- Ability to work within tight deadlines
- Ability to work well both independently and with others
- Strong decision making skills
- Extremely detail oriented
Textbook authors are also expected to read and absorb our many writing and style conventions.
Our author evaluation process is as follows::
- Evaluation of Resume and Writing Sample. We will review your current resume or CV and a brief writing sample on the subject you wish to author. The writing sample should be 2-3 pages in length. If you are interested in authoring a hands-on computer training textbook, your writing sample should include concepts discussions, hands-on step-by-step exercises, and at least one screen capture.
- Evaluation of Sample Lesson. After your initial writing sample is reviewed, you may be asked to draft a full sample lesson using Labyrinth's authoring tools and conventions. The sample lesson will be the final step in the evaluation.
If you would like to be considered as a Labyrinth author, please submit the following to authoring@lablearning.com.
- A letter of introduction (this may be an email message)
- Your current resume or CV
- A writing sample as described above
- A list of the subject(s) you are interested in authoring
