Welcome to Computer Basics, 2nd Edition is a complete introduction to Microsoft's Windows 10 operating system and Office Online.
This easy-to-use solution helps students become proficient with skills they'll use throughout their college experience and in the workforce. From logging into the computer to researching on the Internet, each skill covered enables student success.
Makes use of Microsoft's free Office Online apps and Windows 10 accessories — students just need Windows 10 and an Internet connection.
Covers program controls, menus (including the Start menu), using the task bar, and basic word processing. Integrates Outlook Online, Word Online, and OneDrive.
Students learn how to search the web effectively and defend themselves from Internet threats.
File management and organization is weaved throughout the course as students save files and create folders both on the local PC and in the cloud.
WebSims (simulated versions of certain exercises) and videos engage students and ensure that skills can be covered and practiced, even in a controlled computer lab environment.
Been there, perfected that.

Initiatlly we thought it would be a replacement of the current Welcome to Computers which covers a bit of Office but realized that it was Office 360. Our main reason was to upgrade the Windows portion of our classes with Win 10 content. That we are pleased with and I believe we will be able to make the connections between the Office online portion. We will see how it goes over in the classroom.

Pleased to see this updated simplified approach to Computer Basics including email and Word online. Greg Marshall includes examples I have been using in teaching my courses for years as if we are on the same track.
