Our unique approach offers a profoundly different learning experience. The instructional design engages students and makes learning easy and effective. Robust instructor resources reduce prep time and simplify instruction. Solution highlights:
Prepare your students for the real world. Students master concepts by working through a progression of exercises. Case studies replicate real-world situations giving your students the experience they need to be successful in today’s workplace.
Automate grading with eLab Quick Grader. Select assignments can be uploaded to eLab for instant grading and feedback. Manage grades within eLab or integrate with your LMS to manage grades from your standard gradebook. For QuickBooks 2014 versions only.
Give your students an edge with certification. Students can take their exams with the confidence that they have mastered material that has been approved for the QuickBooks Certified User Program.
Make the connection to accounting principles. Understanding accounting principles helps students grasp why QuickBooks behaves the way it does. Our Flashback to GAAP and Behind the Scenes features explain and visually demonstrate the underlying accounting principle related to the QuickBooks action — in terms a non-accountant can understand.
Features that encourage critical thinking:
Sort Through the Stack: Students organize and enter a variety of items into QuickBooks, such as invoices, bank statement, emails, and more.
Be Your Own Boss: Students create and work with their own company file, or a company file for a company they would like to have.
Comprehensive Learning Projects: Students pull together key concepts from each unit as a capstone activity with real-world scenarios. Available in complimentary instructor resources.
New for this 2014 version:
Unit 3 (Chapters 11 and 12) now covers the entire accounting cycle in separate unit.
Expanded Payroll Coverage demonstrates entering payroll from an outside source, offering complete coverage of both ways to run payroll through QuickBooks.
"Bank Feeds" offers a more streamlined way to work with online banking and includes a web simulation.
“Dealing with Oops” teaches students how to make corrections in QuickBooks has been moved from one chapter into each individual chapter in which the source transactions are located.
Tackle the Tasks exercises have been moved from the end of chapter exercises to the end of the main chapter content allowing students to practice transactions with the same company file used in the Develop Your Skills exercises.

Comprehensive materials needed to learn in-depth and acquire skills employers are looking for. Having each unit be stand-alone allows the instructor to tailor the outline to the needs of the students which is a huge advantage over similar text.

The range of coverage in topics is excellent. The language style isn't as smooth as I'd like it to be for the diversity of adult learner we encountered. More white space in the lessons--readability could be better.

I planned my whole class using Labyrinth's resources. The books is very comprehensive, which allows me to be flexible in the order I like to review the material. Also, eLab has been helpful in creating a program that students should be able to follow easily at home, get prepared for class and do their evaluations.

We used your book in Fall 2014 Semester for the first time and found a lot of errors, especially in the homework assignments. However, we had excellent support from your technical dept and the errors were fixed as we found them. I felt that we were doing the editing for you. Next edition you need to do better editing before release. The material in the book is very good. The text book cost is good. We will be using the book again in our Fall 2015 Semester

As part of using the e-lab for the first time, I’ve been monitoring the HelpDesk tickets we receive at our 24/7 Helpdesk and the news so far is that there have been no calls, the students have used the Labyrinth Learning helpdesk and have reported that they are happy with the help they are getting. I’ll be doing this throughout the first semester, but so far so good and kudos to your HelpDesk. Thx, Roxy
